From September 11 to 14, Hel turned into one of the best-protected places in Poland. This was due to the nationwide exercises of the Polish Red Cross "Peninsula 2025," during which about 300 rescuers and humanitarian workers of the PRC, as well as representatives of uniformed services, practiced joint actions in crisis situations.
These were already the fourth exercises of this type, but for the first time organized on such a large scale. The main goal was to improve procedures and skills for quick and effective response in situations threatening the life and health of civilians.j.
Practice and cooperation above all
The exercises included various scenarios: evacuation of boats with refugees, actions after a fire outbreak, searching for missing persons, simulating accidents in industrial and technical facilities, providing humanitarian and psychological assistance, registering individuals, and operating a humanitarian town.
The exercises were an opportunity to:
test equipment and procedures,
integrate the PRC's rescue and humanitarian systems,
check communication between units and cooperation with the police, fire brigade, border guard, and other services,
participate in specialized training, including in first aid, evacuation, radio communication, or psychological assistance.
Almost all Rescue Groups and Humanitarian Assistance Groups of the PRC from across the country participated in the exercises, including a strong representation of our voivodeship.
Kujawsko-Pomorskie strongly present at the exercises!
In the "Peninsula 2025" exercises, a 22-member group from Bydgoszcz participated – members of the Humanitarian Support Group and Medical Rescue Group from Bydgoszcz.
It was a time of intense learning, exchanging experiences, and integrating with other units from all over Poland.
I am impressed. There was a lot of new knowledge – we learned, among other things, how to register refugees, use radio communication, work in the field. There were first aid exercises, also psychological ones. Great atmosphere, excellent integration. We worked with the police, voluntary fire brigade, rescuers – everyone had their task. We learned cooperation and that in a team, everyone has their strength. Such a trip shows what we already know how to do, but also what we can still improve. And it gives a sense that in crisis situations, we can be a real support.
-said one of the participants, Yevheniia Polehenko from the Humanitarian Support Group of the PRC Bydgoszcz.

We are ready – and we keep learning
The exercises are not only a test of knowledge but also an opportunity to reflect on one’s own skills and readiness to act. Such events confirm that the Polish Red Cross is not only an organization with a long tradition but above all people – committed, competent, and ready to provide help in any situation.
We thank all participants from the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodeship – we are proud of you!
