Charity event, Children

On September 12, 2025, the Immobile Łuczniczka hall in Bydgoszcz was filled to the brim – residents, families with children, volunteers, and donors gathered to together conclude the jubilee, 25th edition of the “Starter Pack for Students” campaign. The highlight of the event was the Charity Concert “Give Children a Heart”, which has not only moved people for years but, more importantly, has provided real support for children in need of help at the beginning of the school year.

The official opening and the words that left a mark

The event began with solemn speeches, during which the organizers and invited guests thanked all individuals and institutions involved in the campaign – from donors and sponsors to volunteers who had been collecting packs throughout the province for weeks.

Monika Przybylska, President of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Branch of the Polish Red Cross, addressed those gathered with heartfelt words:

“I don’t know if anyone has told you today how wonderful you are, because your presence today also demonstrates that you are helping, that you are amazing, because without you we certainly would not have been able to provide such effective help for 25 years (…). Children came prepared with everything needed for school challenges: with smiles, backpacks filled with all the supplies. But do you know what is more important? – not the costs incurred, but the people who wanted to help, those good hearts – those volunteers, wonderful volunteers of the Polish Red Cross, who traversed the streets. We knocked everywhere – and you know what – many people opened their doors for us – thank you for this beautiful.”

The significance of even the smallest gesture of help was emphasized by the President of the Polish Red Cross - Mr. Zbigniew Klawczyński:

We are here to thank all of you – those whom we know by name and surname, from the name of the workplace, company, or any other community, but also for those unnamed, who dropped coins in the donation box, who stuffed notebooks and books into the shopping bags – for the fact that you help us - help others.

The representative of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivode for cooperation with non-governmental organizations - Mr. Ireneusz Nitkiewicz - was also invited to speak:

I think this starter pack is very much needed, very important. This beautiful jubilee testifies (25 years - editor's note) to the perseverance and kind heart of the Polish Red Cross and all of us present - he said, wishing everyone a good time.

A symbolic gesture – handing out starter packs

Immediately after the official part came a moving moment: Magdalena Narożna, vocalist of the band “Beautiful and Young”, handed out backpacks with starter packs to children from Educational and Care Centers. This has become a tradition of the final concerts of the Polish Red Cross in Bydgoszcz.

The smiling faces of the children, the joy and emotion accompanying this moment reminded everyone that behind each of these starter packs is a specific story and a real need.

A concert full of energy and emotions

After the official start, it was time for musical emotions. The band “Beautiful and Young” played their biggest hits, and the audience sang along with the artists. The hall pulsed with joy, and the good energy spread to everyone present. There were encores, ovations, and a collective dance – it was a celebration of music and solidarity.

As a token of appreciation for the beautiful concert, the artists received plush toys from the children – Blood Drops symbolizing the idea of voluntary blood donation, of which the Polish Red Cross is the main organizer and promoter. The most persistent fans could count on taking photos together and autographs.
