25 years of the nationwide PCK campaign "Backpack for a Student" in Kujawsko-Pomorskie!

The beginning of the school year is a time full of emotions - for children and parents. It is a moment of new challenges, joy from meeting peers, and hope for a good year. Unfortunately, this time is not carefree for everyone. Many families - including in our province - are struggling with financial difficulties that prevent the purchase of necessary school supplies.

That is why for 25 years the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Branch of the Polish Red Cross has joined the nationwide PCK action "Backpack for Students", which supports children from families in difficult material situations. The anniversary edition of this campaign is not only an opportunity to celebrate but, above all, to help.

We started the action "Backpack for Students" on July 10, launching a collection of school supplies to fill the school backpacks to the brim. Thanks to the support of both individuals and companies, we were able to hand out the first backpacks on August 28, 2025, during a ceremonial event in the courtyard of PCK in Bydgoszcz. On that day, we presented the children with 100 backpacks and over 70 bags with school supplies. But that's not all! We will distribute over 1500 packages throughout the province!

It was an incredibly touching moment - the sight of smiling children proudly wearing their new backpacks reminded us of the great power of a simple gesture of solidarity.

The meeting was accompanied by refreshments, and the youngest expressed their joy and gratitude in the most beautiful way possible - with sincere smiles.

Final: Charity Concert "Give Children Heart"

The culmination of each edition of the action "Backpack for Students" is the Charity Concert "Give Children Heart", which has become a permanent part of the calendar of Bydgoszcz social and cultural events.

This year's edition will take place on September 12, 2025, at the Immobile Łuczniczka Hall in Bydgoszcz, and the star of the evening will be the band "Beautiful and Young". During the concert, we will hand out more school backpacks to children in need of support.

During the concert, you will not only be able to hear the biggest hits of the band but also participate in accompanying attractions, such as a lottery or a charity shop.

The total income from the concert will be used to continue the support for children from the poorest families, who are covered by long-term support from the Polish Red Cross.
