On June 30th, during renovation work on the roof of a single-family home in the village of Czarże (Dąbrowa Chełmińska municipality), a tragic fire broke out. Due to an unfortunate accident, the fire engulfed the attic and roof of the building. Despite the firefighters' quick response, the house was severely damaged – the roof and attic were completely burned, and the lower part was flooded with water.
Fortunately, no one was hurt in the fire. However, the nine-member, three-generation family lost their home and all their possessions. The family was separated – they temporarily found shelter with relatives.

After the incident, the family turned to the Kujawsko-Pomorskie District Branch of the Polish Red Cross for help. The Red Cross did not remain indifferent – they supported the fire victims with the most necessary items: beds, mattresses, sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, and shoes for adults.
