Volunteering

On December 5th, we celebrate International Volunteer Day – a special holiday for people with great hearts, who selflessly act for the benefit of others, inspiring us all to build a better world. It is also an excellent opportunity to emphasize the role that volunteering plays in the Polish Red Cross and to encourage new people to join our mission.

Volunteers of the PCK – the heart of our organization

Volunteering in the Polish Red Cross is more than just actions – it is a way of life based on empathy, solidarity, and mutual respect. PCK volunteers are people of different ages and from various backgrounds, united by a common goal: to provide help where it is most needed. Thanks to them:

  • We reach those in greatest need – volunteers participate in humanitarian aid actions, support people in life crises, and engage in assistance for migrants and refugees.

  • Education and prevention – they conduct first aid workshops, educational activities in schools and local communities, promoting safety and a healthy lifestyle.

  • Support during disasters and crises – they are always there where there is a need for quick response, providing food, hygiene products, and other forms of support in crisis situations.

  • Building relationships in local communities – they organize integration events and help the elderly and lonely, strengthening interpersonal bonds.

Every action they take is based on the values that form the foundation of the Polish Red Cross: humanitarianism, impartiality, and professionalism.

Why is it worth it?

Volunteering is not just about helping others – it is also an opportunity for personal development, gaining new experiences, and building lasting relationships. PCK volunteers speak with one voice: "Helping changes us!" These are everyday gestures that create significant changes – from the smile of the person you helped to the satisfaction that comes from doing good.

Thank you for being here!

On the occasion of International Volunteer Day, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers of the Polish Red Cross. Your work is of immense importance, and each day of your activity brings us closer to a world based on humanitarianism and empathy.

Join us and together let’s build a better world.
