In Poland, there are over 9 million people over the age of 60. For many of them, old age means not only reduced activity but, above all, loneliness, isolation, and a sense of exclusion. The statistics are moving:
27% of seniors live alone, which means that their everyday life is emptiness and lack of close conversations.
Many seniors, especially in smaller towns, suffer from a lack of places where they could meet others, learn new things, and find joy in life.
Extreme poverty affects over 5.7% of people over the age of 65, and the approaching winter brings difficult choices: food or warmth?
However, loneliness is not a sentence. Every older person deserves respect, attention, and support – a sense that they are still needed. That is why the Polish Red Cross is running the campaign “I’m still here”, to turn these depressing statistics into beautiful stories.

Why do we do this?
In our daily work, we meet people who need not only material assistance but above all, the presence of another human being. The stories of our beneficiaries, such as Mr. Jacek, show how much of a difference a kind word, an invitation to talk, or shared activities can make.
Mr. Jacek, 70 years old (in the photo above):
“The first activity I participated in was led by a beekeeper who talked about honey. The meeting was so fascinating that we asked for another one, and indeed, there was a follow-up. (…) Regular meetings force me to leave the house, which is particularly important given my health issues.”
There are hundreds of such stories. Seniors come to our Clubs to get out of the house, talk, participate in activities, and feel again that life makes sense. That is why we are developing this campaign – so that no senior feels lonely.

What do we offer to seniors?
Thanks to the support of donors and business partners, we create Senior Clubs, which are safe and inspiring spaces for older individuals. In the clubs, seniors:
Participate in artistic workshops, physical activities, and educational sessions.
Take part in trips, meetings with experts, exhibitions, or concerts.
Receive psychological and social support.
Create new relationships that counteract loneliness and isolation.
Currently, there are already 28 PCK Senior Clubs operating throughout Poland, and their number continues to grow. Each club is a place that vibrates with life, gives hope, and makes the autumn of life colorful.
How can you help?
Your support is crucial. Thanks to the involvement of donors, we can reach more places and open the doors of clubs for new individuals.
Support financially as a company
If you represent a company, engage in the campaign as a business partner. You can:
Make a donation for organizing activities for seniors.
Organize a CSR action where your company's employees get involved in activities for seniors.
Support individually
Every penny matters. By making a donation, you help change the lives of specific individuals. Just go to the website jeszczetujestem.pl and make your contribution.

Together we can do more
Our mission does not end with statistics. We want to truly change the lives of older people in Poland. With the support of good-hearted individuals and socially responsible companies, we can ensure that loneliness will no longer be a daily reality for thousands of seniors.
Let us not allow old age to mean isolation. Join the campaign “I’m still here” and help us create spaces that change lives.
