Armed conflict in Ukraine

The Polish Red Cross has been supporting refugees and those affected in Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict. Aid worth 304 million PLN has been provided, including transports and psychological support.

General information

Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022, the Polish Red Cross has been involved in helping refugees and victims in war-torn areas. Polish Red Cross rescuers organized reception points on the border, delivering food, water, blankets and clothing, as well as providing medical assistance.

Thanks to cooperation with international partners, aid reached both refugees in Poland and people in Ukraine, including in places such as Bucha. The Polish Red Cross carries out a wide range of activities: humanitarian transports, psychological support and integration programs, being a symbol of solidarity and effective support.

The Importance of Donors

The activities of the Polish Red Cross for Ukraine were made possible thanks to the support of donors and volunteers. Despite difficulties such as "compassion fatigue," the Polish Red Cross continues its efforts to help those in need. Thanks to the work of 130 thousand volunteers and international funds, assistance has reached 18 million Ukrainians.
