Health Olympics PCK

National educational program that teaches children and youth a healthy lifestyle, conscious dietary choices, and care for the environment. We combine theory with practice to build a healthy future!

About the project

The Polish Red Cross Health Olympics with Biedronka is a nationwide educational program aimed at children and youth, the main goal of which is to promote a healthy lifestyle, health prevention and ecology. Organized by the Polish Red Cross for over 32 years, the Olympics combines theoretical education with practical activities that teach young people to make informed decisions about their health.

The strategic partnership with the Biedronka chain reinforces the message about the importance of healthy eating and shapes knowledge about making good food choices. The program is divided into local, provincial and national stages, which allows for the gradual development of participants' knowledge and skills.

The Health Olympiad PCK is a competition aimed at fostering in children and youth the need to take care of their own health and the natural environment.

Need

In the face of growing health problems such as obesity, lack of physical activity, and improper eating habits, educating children and youth about a healthy lifestyle has become a key challenge. Statistics show that more and more young people struggle with lifestyle diseases resulting from a lack of knowledge about healthy eating and health prevention.

The Health Olympics organized by PCK in collaboration with Biedronka addresses this need by teaching young people how to take care of their own health and that of their surroundings, as well as how to make conscious nutritional and ecological choices. It also emphasizes values such as responsibility and social solidarity, which help young people engage in the life of local communities.

How do we help?

The Red Cross Health Olympics program with Biedronka implements activities that combine theoretical education with practice, teaching children and youth a healthy lifestyle, responsibility, and cooperation. Thanks to collaboration with educational institutions and support from a strategic partner, the program effectively reaches young audiences.

Activities carried out as part of the program:

Promoting cooperation and engagement

Who helps?

Thanks to the Olympics, young people can not only showcase their knowledge about the broadly understood healthy lifestyle but also implement model actions in their local community. Additionally, we develop participants' ability to mobilize local environments for socially important goals. The assumptions of the Olympics align with Goal 3 of the UN Agenda 2030 - "Good health and well-being".
