Blood donation

The Polish Red Cross is conducting information campaigns across the country and encouraging donations as part of the Summer Blood Drop campaign. This is a response to the increased demand for this valuable tissue during the summer months.

The summer is a time when the demand for blood increases, mainly due to a higher number of accidents and dangerous injuries. At the same time, fewer donors report to Blood Donation and Transfusion Centers than in other periods of the year - it is the holiday season, and additionally, any trip abroad for regular donors means that upon returning, they must wait before donating again.

Hence, the action of the Polish Red Cross, the Summer Blood Drop campaign. Its aim is to fill the blood shortages through various initiatives related to promoting voluntary blood donation and organizing blood drives.
