World Oral Health Day – a healthy smile is a happy life!
On March 20, we celebrate World Oral Health Day, which reminds us of the immense importance of oral hygiene for our health and well-being. The slogan of this year's 12th edition of the program Share a Smile is “A healthy mouth is a happy mind”, emphasizing how much the health of our teeth and gums affects our daily lives, self-confidence, and overall quality of life.

According to the World Health Organization, as many as 3.5 billion people worldwide struggle with oral diseases, and in Poland alone, caries affects even 40% of three-year-olds and 82% of six-year-olds. However, these problems can be effectively mitigated through proper prevention – regular tooth brushing, using dental floss, chewing sugar-free gum after meals, and routine visits to the dentist.
The Share a Smile program – education and prevention for children
The Polish Red Cross has been collaborating with Mars and the Polish Dental Society and the Polish Society of Pediatric Dentistry for 12 years as part of the educational program Share a Smile, which helps children in Poland take care of their oral health.
Thanks to this initiative, over 1 million students in grades 0-3 have learned how to properly care for their teeth and prevent cavities. This year's edition involves another 150 thousand students from all over Poland.
As the PRC, we believe that prevention and education from an early age are the key to healthy smiles in the future. We encourage everyone – children and adults – to take care of their oral health, as it is an investment in a better quality of life!
