Imagine standing at the checkout, just after making a purchase. What if, with one click, you could provide life-saving assistance to people in crisis?
Thanks to a new partnership between Adyen, a global payment solutions provider, and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, this is now possible. The Polish Red Cross is part of this initiative, so the solution will also be implemented in Poland.
In crisis situations such as earthquakes, floods, fires, or armed conflicts, rapid response is crucial. Red Cross and Red Crescent teams are on the ground as some of the first responders – providing medical assistance, delivering drinking water, food, hygiene products, and offering shelter to those in need. In a world where everything happens quickly, humanitarian aid must also be immediate.

Transparency and trust are key to this initiative. Donations made through Adyen Giving will be processed immediately. The customer will receive information about the purpose of the fundraiser at the time of payment – it could be, for example, support for people affected by floods, fires, or other emergencies. The selected amount will be added to the bill – with no hidden fees or commissions. 100% of the amount will go directly to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, ensuring that help reaches those affected in the crisis. So it only takes a few seconds to get involved in assistance.
With a presence in 191 countries and millions of volunteers, the Red Cross and Red Crescent can provide assistance anywhere in the world. The program is available in 33 countries and will be activated in crisis situations when quick fundraising is required to help the affected.
Such partnerships are an opportunity to solidify the idea of smart and easy helping. Sometimes it just takes a symbolic amount added to the bill at the store to support efforts for those in need. Ordinary shopping can change someone’s life.
