The assistance from the Polish Red Cross reached Slovenia

The first transport of the Polish Red Cross with humanitarian aid for the flood victims arrived in Slovenia. During the unloading at the warehouses of the Slovenian Red Cross in Celje and Ljubljana, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Krzysztof Olendzki, was present, who thanked the PCK team for their commitment and extremely quick response.

Aid worth 500,000 PLN has been distributed among those in need. This primarily includes long shelf-life food: canned goods, ready meals, instant soups, as well as over 6,000 hygiene kits for women and men.

Reaching many flooded areas was very difficult: possible only thanks to the skills and dedication of #RedCross volunteers. Roads and entire districts are flooded. Particularly dangerous are numerous landslides. The town of Črna na Koroškem, located in a valley in the northern part of the country, is completely cut off from the world.

On-site, representatives of the Polish Red Cross assessed the needs of the local community. These needs are enormous. Therefore, we are planning further aid transports. We intend to deliver modern dehumidifiers to Slovenia, which will help remove the effects of the flood. Our collection 'for the aid to Slovenia' is ongoing.
