Starter kit for a Student
An initiative that supports children from low-income families in Poland, helping them prepare for the new school year. Thanks to the commitment of our partners and local communities, we provide students with essential school supplies, giving them a chance for a better start and the opportunity to fully participate in education.
About the action
“Wyprawka dla Żaka” is a nationwide campaign organized by the Polish Red Cross, the aim of which is to support children and young people from families in a difficult financial situation. The campaign is a response to the real needs of students, whose parents cannot always afford to buy basic school supplies.
Every year, thanks to the involvement of donors, partners and volunteers, notebooks, backpacks, pens, crayons and other supplies necessary for learning are collected. Additionally, funds are collected that allow for the purchase of more expensive materials, such as calculators, pencil cases or poster paints.
The campaign also includes numerous accompanying events that increase social awareness and promote the idea of helping children in need. Collections are organized in stores, during which volunteers encourage customers to donate selected school supplies, as well as charity concerts, which not only financially support the campaign, but also engage local communities.
“Wyprawka dla Żaka” is not only a collection of school supplies, but also an expression of solidarity and concern for the future of the young generation. Thanks to this initiative, children are given a chance to start the new school year with dignity, and their families gain a little relief in difficult times. Every gesture of support is of great importance, because together we can change the fate of those who need it most.
The beginning of the school year is a huge financial challenge for many children and their families. Buying textbooks, notebooks, backpacks and basic school supplies is a cost that is often beyond the reach of families struggling with economic difficulties - especially dysfunctional ones.
The lack of necessary equipment not only makes it harder for children to learn, but also lowers their self-confidence and makes it harder to integrate into a peer group. The pandemic and the constantly rising costs of living have further deepened this problem, especially in families living from occasional work, where every expense is a challenge.

The lack of adequate equipment not only hinders children's learning but also negatively affects their well-being and integration within their peer group. The pandemic and rising living costs have further exacerbated this problem, especially in families relying on casual work.

How do we help?
Collection of School Supplies
The Polish Red Cross organizes collections of school supplies at Auchan stores across Poland, where customers can donate purchased notebooks, backpacks, crayons, or pencil cases.
Distribution of school supplies
The collected items go to children from families in difficult financial situations, and their distribution takes place in cooperation with schools and social assistance centers.
Charity Concerts
The finale of the action highlights cultural events, such as a concert by the Enej band, which not only integrate local communities but also attract new donors.
Financial and material support from partners
Partners of the campaign, such as Amazon and Auchan, provide funds as well as educational and logistical materials that enable the expansion of the campaign's reach.
